School Badge

Every US public school has a SchoolGrade. If yours is one worth showing off, put it on your school or district site with a free badge that updates itself and takes one paste.

Grades computed for all US public schools by the SchoolGrade data team.

Get your badge

Type your school’s name and pick it from the list. Add the city if the name is common.

Badge style

Embed code

The badge links to your school’s page here, which is how visitors can verify the grade is real. Keeping that credit link is the one condition of use.

Prefer a file?

Download the badge as SVG and host it yourself. A downloaded copy freezes today’s grade; the embed code above stays current on its own.

Every public school
All US public schools are graded, elementary through high school, from national data.
Impact, not just scores
Grades weigh real results against each school’s context, so schools that outperform their circumstances grade well here even when raw-score rankings ignore them.
Always current
The badge renders live from SchoolGrade data. When grades refresh, every embedded badge updates itself.

Common questions

Is it really free? Yes. The only requirement is the credit link in the embed code, and you may qualify it with rel=”nofollow” if you prefer.

Who can use it? Schools and districts themselves first of all, plus PTAs, community organizations, and local sites. We ask that the badge not be used in contexts that are misleading, hateful, or discriminatory, and we may withdraw permission where it is.

What does the badge show? Your school’s current overall SchoolGrade, or its city ranking when it holds one of the top spots. When the data refreshes, the badge updates on its own.

Our grade seems low. Can we still use it? Yes, the generator works for every school. The badge shows the real grade, so it is up to you whether it is one worth displaying.
